Board of Directors

The James Irwin Charter School network is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who champion the network’s vision and philosophy of education. In each decision, the Board of Directors is guided by the question, “What’s best for students?” We believe that education is a shared responsibility among the student, family, school, and community. We are honored to partner with you in the education and development of your child.

The role of the James Irwin Board of Directors is to:
• Empower the mission and work of ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½
• Establish the strategic direction of the organization and monitor progress towards goals
• Steward finances and resources with intention and transparency
• Ensure that the organization is operating legally and ethically
• Serve as trusted advisors to the James Irwin executive leadership staff
• Be ambassadors for the organization

Procedure for Public Comments at Board Meetings

Attending Board meetings is one avenue, among many, for parental and staff involvement. Members of the James Irwin community and the public are invited to attend and, if they so desire, to express interest or concerns for the school. Board meetings are conducted in an orderly and efficient manner. If you wish to address the Board, please sign in prior to the start of the meeting, and you will receive up to three minutes to speak during the Public Comment time on the agenda.

Concerns

It is the desire of the James Irwin leadership and Board of Directors that everyone follows the communication pathway, going directly to the person with whom they have a question or a concern. If a parent, teacher, student, or member of the James Irwin community has a concern, please respectfully communicate with the teacher, principal, and/or school administration prior to contacting the Board.
